White board fence along Sterling Road

Just after you come up the hill on Sterling the road curves to the right (as we are heading north on our Inverness ride) and there is the very distinctive white board fence on the right. I am usually glad to be here since it means that I've made it up that last hill (don't worry there are plenty more hills in this area (if that is what you are looking for)).

Winding roads in Inverness

This is just a little further along on Sterling as you come up Banbury. When you get to Banbury you have a couple of options. For the widest loop and most miles you can take a hard left. I used to take that route all the time but probably the steepest hill on the entire ride is that direction. Now I just go right on Banbury and take the easier way. Hey, I'm still getting a good ride with a lot of hills anyway so I can give myself a break once in a while.

Beautiful Home in Inverness

Another beautiful home on our Inverness ride. I actually like checking out the luxurious houses and beautiful landscaping in Inverness and I think that touring the neighborhood on a bike is one of the best ways to do that.

Nice house for sale in Inverness

Hey, check it out... this one is for sale! Anyone interested? OK, I'm just doing the ride and I don't have time to check the prices at the moment.

A pond in residential area

It looks nice though and it has a little pond too. That's gotta hike up the price a little more. :-)

Overgrown Tennis Court in Inverness

Here's a private (and overgrown) tennis court on Heather... This is the northern most tip of  our road trip. It is unfortunate that there is no outlet here since this is so close to Deer Grove Forest Preserve.

Deer Grove is just a little north of here and is actually very close to this location but you would have to cross the Metra tracks, Northwest Highway and Dundee Road even if there was a road out of the neighbor hood here. This would be Deer Grove west and one of my favorite places to ride in Deer Grove but I guess that's just gotta be a different ride. So close... yet so far...

Here's the photo tour of the Inverness Trail, from South Park, in Inverness (going north) to Blackburn on the northern end of Inverness (May, 2005).
