The sign at South Park in Inverness

OK, we are starting our Inverness Road Trip here at South Park (I know that there's potential for a South Park cartoon joke here but I'll pass on that).

This is in the south east part of Inverness. Our trip for these photos is between Roselle Road (on the east) and Ela road on the west and we will be heading north through the beautiful rolling green hills of Inverness. There is parking at South Park but if there is a soccer game or other event the lot may be full.

A view of Lake Inverness

When you ride south from South Park (there is no outlet if you ride north) you will come to Clover Drive. I took a left on Clover (heading east and north) here at the beginning of my ride.

The photo above shows Lake Inverness, as seen from Clover Drive. This is a private lake, surrounded by houses, but you get a very nice view from Clover and a few glimpses from some of the other surrounding streets.

Lake Inverness as seen from Clover Drive

The photo above is also Lake Inverness as seen from a little further along on Clover Drive. Even though you can't actually get out to the lake I like seeing it in the background whenever I take this ride.

The steep hill on Clover Drive in Inverness

This is a nice little downhill stretch on Clover... You can really get some speed going here! Actually I broke my all time speed record here one day and got up to 36mph (OK, I'm not a racer but that was really fast for me. I also had a strong wind in my direction).

I don't know if I would recommend getting to that speed here (I only did it one time) but I like when they have the speed radar sign on this road that shows your speed (to get cars to slow down). I try to break the law and at least go over the 25mph speed limit. I'm such an outlaw!

Phesant Trail (road) in Inverness

This is Pheasant Trail... A nice little winding section, still south of Palatine Road.

Winding down Applyby Road

I think this one is winding down Appleby. Actually there are very few straight roads in this part of Inverness.

Here's the photo tour of the Inverness Trail, from South Park, in Inverness (going north) to Blackburn on the northern end of Inverness (May, 2005).
