Elroy-Sparta Trail
Past Interstate 90 Bridge to Tunnel #3

Here's one of the wooden bridges on the trail and some typical bridge scenery for this part of the trail. Whenever I have been on the Elroy-Sparta bike trail or the other connecting trails they have been very well maintained. Of course every year will be different and the trail is much nicer in dryer conditions but since this is a state trail and tourism is pretty big in this part of Wisconsin they do keep these trails in good condition.

Rural scenery along the trail. These bike trail photos were some of the first bike trail photos that I took (over 10 years ago now) and the photo above does not really show what I was trying to capture here all that well. Basically, there are times that you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere, in the woods and other times the trail goes through some openings in the trees and you see the rolling hills and farms in the distance (which is what I really wanted to show here).

Some of the beautiful rolling hills in the distance along the trail. Once again the photo did not capture this all that well but it really is a nice area to ride through and enjoy.

There is a fairly deep ravine here but photos usually don't really capture the full depth or feeling...

Ahead in the distance you can see where there is a bridge and the trail goes under one of the highways in this area.

Coming up to Tunnel #3 (the longest and closest to Sparta). The tunnels are really what make this bike trail interesting and make it stand out from so many other trails. I actually thought that this particular tunnel was the most fun and most interesting of the 3 tunnels on this trail.
