Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail
Kendall Depot and Wisconsin Bench Wisdom

Parking at the Elroy-Sparta bike trail headquarters at Kendall near the Elroy end of the trail and about 3 miles east of tunnel #1. There is plenty of free parking here if you choose to start your Elroy Sparta trail ride in Kendall.

The Elroy Sparta Trail as it passes the Kendall headquarters. You can also purchase the bike trail passes here and they have a gift shop, park with picnic tables, and a railway museum. So even if you are just passing through this is a good place for a break.

Some wise messages written on benches along the trail. OK, these are kind of touristy and all but I guess I just enjoyed the layed back, down home country messages as I rode by. :-)

I had a brief conversation with some very nice ladies from this town as I stopped for some photos. It seems to be a very friendly town to me...

A little bit of a wetland area off the side of the trail. This is after leaving the town of Kendall still heading east towards Elroy. I know that the trail runs very close to the Kickapoo and Baraboo rivers at times and I think this part of the trail is near the Baraboo River so the wetland area above could be a run off of the Baraboo River or the river itself (I didn't have my GPS bike computer at the time otherwise I could have easily checked this).

The photo above show some of the typical scenery along the Elroy Sparta trail as I passed between Kendall and Elroy (heading east). This photo is from the middle of summer and this area a very green and still fairly shady. Sorry that the photo quality is not all that good (these photos are old and I did not have a very good camera at the time) but I really wanted to give you the feel of the trail and how it looks the entire way (which is why there are so many photos in this photo tour).
