The Deer Grove Bike Path
West of Quentin

This is where you get back to the bike path (from the forest preserve road)... The forest preserve color codes their trails and this is actually the Black Trail, which is the paved trail that has a short section in Deer Grove West then crosses Quentin, goes through some woods and connects to the 3 mile loop in Deer Grove East. There are 2 entrances to the unpaved Yellow Trail from this part of the bike trail. The unpaved Yellow Trail is the main bike trail in the western part of Deer Grove and goes around all of Deer Grove West.

This is one of the openings along this trial. There are some pavilions to the left and the "yellow" trail entrance is just around this bend which is where I started the "Mountain Trail" photos section (see the links on the right for these photos... The entrance is just west of where the trail crosses Quentin Road.

The Crossing Quentin Road (watch it here)... This is a busy road which can be difficult to cross at times especially when traffic is heavy. There is a painted cross walk on the road but there can still be a lot of fairly fast moving traffic. I would actually like to see a traffic signal here (well as a cyclist I would but not as a driver when I drive on this road. I guess that would be the trade off).

This is just after crossing Quentin (now into Deer Grove East). Once again keep in mind that these photos were from 2003. I would like to get some newer and better photos but I also like the fact that these photos are more historical now since they have chopped down many of the trees in this section now.
