This plush flower garden circle is where the path passes through Wolfenbuttel Park. Once you get through this park, heading south, you need to go out to the roads and sidewalks again.
We rode along the sidewalk here as we passed by the Kemper Center, which is part of the Kenosha County Park on 3rd Avenue We did not go there but it ways that it is open to the public..
Once again we connect to an actual trail again through one of the parks and along Lake Michigan. One of my favorite things to do on hot summer days is to ride along Lake Michigan.
Just north of the Kenosha Sand Dunes we took this road (I believe that this is 7th Avenue) where there is a fairly wide bike lane shown in the photo above.
Once again, I took a photo of a sign to help determine where we were on this ride (prior to tracking my rides with my GPS bike computer). We did not have a chance to explore the sand dunes area but I would have liked to check out if there are bike paths there.
Back on the sidewalk passing a park as we headed back the the southern part of the Kenosha Bike Trail again. This part of the ride is not all that great but the connections are necessary and this ride, overall, was great.
I believe that this is where the actual Kenosha County Bike Trail picks up again as we headed south. This part of the trail was paved and on the outskirts of town heading through a park.
Finally we are back on the southern, crushed stone part of the Kenosha County Trail again heading towards the Illinois state line and were we started our trip just off of Russell Road.
Here's the photo tour of the Kenosha County Trail from the Illinois/Wisconsin border, along Lake Michigan, on to the Pike Bike Trail, through Kenosha, and north to Carthage College. This ride was from July, 2010.
