If you are familiar with in home fitness equipment (treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes, etc.) then you should be familiar with Proform. Proform is the highest selling brand of fitness equipment from the largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world (ICON fitness). This in itself does not make Proform better but it does give them some advantages regarding the resources that are available to them.
As for Proform Fitness Bikes, for years Proform has focused on a variety of budget and mid-range stationary bikes (upright and recumbent) and indoor cycles.
Proform still makes some of the most affordable exercise bikes and indoor cycles back in 2011, they have moved up into the next level of fitness technology with their new and exciting (and extremely popular) Tour de France Indoor Cycle.
This Indoor Cycle was unlike any other at that time and has made some permanent changes in the fitness bike industry. See our Proform Tour de France (TDF) Review for more on this (now historical) and innovative Training Bike.
I have included numerous Proform Fitness Bike reviews on this website over the years but it can be difficult to keep up with all of their latest models. Our current reviews only include:
Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Dual-Action Hybrid Models
For the latest Proform models and prices see the Proform FItness BIkes Prices and Availability page on this website.
Getting back to Proform's more traditional stationary bikes, they have recently released many new innovative mid-range quality models, many with iFit Technology.
Generally, many Proform fitness bikes are priced a little higher due to their iFit Interactive Training feature but do not underestimate the value of having that additional motivation tool on your fitness equipment.
The original iFit Technology consisted of memory cards (purchased separately) that included a series of workouts that could be loaded on to your fitness products and control the resistance levels for additional workout variety and motivation.
The current iFit Technology just goes to a completely different level. The current iFit options still control the resistance of the fitness bike but also includes Virtual Classes with Trainers, Destination Workouts, Google Maps routes and workouts in addition to adjusting the incline of some bikes (Studio Cycle models). How's that for a motivational upgrade!
There is just too much included with iFit Interactive technology to cover in this Proform brand review. Please see the Proform Fitness bike reviews on this site or our Proform Price List for links to the Proform site for plenty of iFit videos and detailed iFit information .
More Innovative Models...
The Dual-Action Hybrid Trainer is a more unique model that is actually an elliptical trainer that allows you to sit, as you would on a recumbent exercise bike or to stand as you would on an elliptical trainer. See the link above for more information on this product.
The area where I think that Proform really excels in mid-range Indoor Cycles.
Proform does currently have a very good selection of traditional Indoor Cycle that are available directly from their website. See out Proform Price List for more details on the latest models/
Keep in mind that Indoor Cycles are generally built for a more intense workout and not necessarily for comfort. They are usually (but not always) more expensive than traditional upright exercise bikes. These fitness bikes are the best for serious indoor cycle training workouts and weight loss.
About-Bicycles Brand Review - Proform
Proform makes very affordable fitness bikes that either blow the competition away with the lowest costs or in some cases (as with the TDF), have the newest and most innovative features in the industry.
Proform's current lineup includes many new Indoor Cycles, Recumbents and Upright models with iFit Technology in addition to the Proform Hybrid Trainer.
You can get lower priced mid-range fitness bikes online but most will not include the iFit Interactive options (unless they are other ICON Fitness products).
