Above is an HDR photo that Dale took of the cliffs along the river with the trees and vegetation above.
This photo is a panoramic shot of the Kankakee River that I took from the viewing platform just off of the KRT.
Here are some fly fishermen on the river. Dale managed to get this shot and you can even see the fishing line being swung through the air as the fisherman cast his line over and over. You can click on the photo for the larger image which shows the detail better.
This photo show this weathered tree hanging on to the to side of the cliff along the river. This is actually right next to the viewing platform which is, of course right next to the trail. I think it was worth it to take a short break here to check out the scenery.
Here's a photo of the overlook platform with the river in the background.
OK, right after you get back on the trail again you have this covered bridge that goes over a small stream. These types of things provide some scenic variety to a ride that might otherwise just be a bike path through the woods.
