Here's one of the benches along the trail. What trail? The Ahnapee Trail of course! I just thought that this photo made a good opening for the photos of this trail
The bridge where we turned around south of Forestville and about 3 miles from Algoma.
Some of the nice purple flowers along the Ahnapee Trail. There were quite a few of these along this part of the trail at this time of year (this was early June).
A closer view of the flowers taken by Dale. These were not the exact same flowers but the same kind anyway.
There are a lot of white birch trees in Door County and along this part of the Ahnapee Trail. There is actually quite a variety of trees including birch and quite a few evergreen trees too.
The trail passes right past the Forestville dam and the park next to the dam. There are picnic tables and washrooms at the park.
Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:
What did the fish say after he swam into a wall? Dam!
And here is a view of the dam itself. It is pretty scary to go up on the bridge and see the water rushing into the openings before the dam.
