Above is the steel bridge where the Wauponsee Glacial Trail (WGT) crosses the Kankakee River near Custer, Illinois.
This is where the WGT starts heading north after the bridge. The trail is crushed stone except for the part just before the bridge as you can see in the photo.
The southern part of the trail - shown above - is a little more wooded than the center or northern part of the trail on our ride.
This panoramic photo shows the scenery a little further north on the trail. For even more detail see the blow up version of this photo (or the video link below).
The scenery is a lot like the photo above mostly in the center part of the trail.
Here is the bridge where the trail crosses Prairie Creek near South Gougar Road just south of Manhattan, Illinois.
